SJVYFL Outside Food and Beverage Policy

To maintain safety, cleanliness, and consistency across all league events, no outside food or drinks are permitted within SJVYFL facilities, fields, or event areas.

Exception for Medical Conditions

Individuals with a documented medical condition that requires personal food or beverage items may bring their own provisions under the following conditions:

  • The items must be necessary to address the individual’s specific medical needs.

  • Food and drink must be contained in a standard-sized lunch pail no larger than 12" x 12".

  • Portions should be limited to a single serving for the individual with the medical condition.

  • Any liquids brought in must be in sealed containers (e.g., sealed water bottle, can of soda, juice box).

  • Items are subject to inspection upon entry if requested by facility or event staff.

  • Please make arrangements with your program president or director prior to your arrival so they can notify the hosting facility of your medical accommodation needs.

This policy ensures the safety of all participants, supports facility agreements, and maintains a positive environment for our athletes, families, and guests.

San Joaquin Valley Youth Football League (SJVYFL) Code of Conduct Policy

For All Youth Football and Cheer Events

The San Joaquin Valley Youth Football League (SJVYFL) is dedicated to providing a positive, safe, and enjoyable environment for all athletes, coaches, cheerleaders, officials, and spectators. This Code of Conduct outlines the behavior expected at all league-sanctioned games, practices, and events.

Participation in any SJVYFL event is a privilege — not a right. All players, parents, coaches, officials, and spectators are expected to uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship, respect, and integrity at all times.

1. General Conduct Expectations

All participants, coaches, parents, and spectators shall:

  • Demonstrate respect toward all players, coaches, officials, cheerleaders, parents, and league representatives.

  • Promote good sportsmanship before, during, and after games or events.

  • Follow all facility rules and league policies, including those set by hosting organizations.

  • Refrain from abusive, vulgar, or offensive language or behavior.

  • Respect game officials’ decisions — verbal abuse or confrontations with referees or staff will not be tolerated.

  • Help create an environment that is safe, supportive, and fun for all youth participants.

2. Parent and Spectator Code of Conduct

Parents and spectators are expected to:

  • Cheer in a positive and supportive manner for all participants.

  • Avoid coaching from the sidelines or stands.

  • Never use profanity, insults, or negative comments toward players, coaches, cheerleaders, or officials.

  • Respect the decisions of the officials and the integrity of the game.

  • Stay in designated spectator areas and refrain from entering the field or sideline unless authorized.

  • Follow all SJVYFL and hosting facility rules, including no outside food or beverages unless pre-approved for medical reasons.

  • Be role models of sportsmanship and composure for all youth participants.

Disciplinary Action:
Any parent, guardian, or spectator who violates this Code of Conduct may be removed from the facility and/or subject to suspension from future league events.

3. Player Code of Conduct

All players must:

  • Show respect for coaches, teammates, opponents, and officials at all times.

  • Play by the rules and follow directions from coaches and referees.

  • Avoid taunting, fighting, or using disrespectful language or gestures.

  • Take care of league and facility property and report unsafe conditions.

  • Represent their team and league with pride and integrity, both on and off the field.

Disciplinary Action:
Players who violate this Code of Conduct may face suspension or removal from league participation as determined by their program or the SJVYFL Board.

4. Coach and Volunteer Code of Conduct

All coaches, team staff, and volunteers must:

  • Serve as positive role models, demonstrating fairness, respect, and leadership.

  • Place the emotional and physical well-being of athletes above personal desire to win.

  • Maintain proper communication and professionalism with parents, players, and officials.

  • Never engage in or tolerate any form of bullying, harassment, discrimination, or abuse.

  • Follow all SJVYFL safety, equipment, and training requirements.

  • Never use any form of tobacco, alcohol, or illegal substances at youth events.

Disciplinary Action:
Violations may result in suspension, removal from coaching duties, or further disciplinary action by SJVYFL leadership.

5. Enforcement

The SJVYFL Board of Directors, host site coordinators, and game officials have full authority to enforce this Code of Conduct at all league events.
Consequences for violations may include:

  • Verbal warning or written notice

  • Removal from the event or facility

  • Suspension from future events

  • Referral to the SJVYFL Executive Board for review and further disciplinary action

All decisions regarding disciplinary measures are final and made in the best interest of player safety, league reputation, and community integrity.

6. Agreement to Comply

Participation in SJVYFL programs constitutes agreement to abide by this Code of Conduct.
Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action up to and including suspension or expulsion from SJVYFL activities.
